Forged: Braided Pin
A contemporary take on an equestrian classic.
Inspired by the distinctive form of the farrier’s nail, the Forged Braided Pin combines polished sterling silver with a tiny square braid of horse hair, set between the two sculptural ends.
Designed to be worn as a traditional stock pin or simply as a brooch, its clean, understated lines make it equally at home in or out of the saddle. For regular use with a traditional stock, we recommend the white gold pin bar, which offers greater strength than sterling silver when passing through multiple layers of fabric.
Made individually using your own horse hair, or choose from our carefully selected horse hair. Available in two lengths, with a choice of sterling silver or white gold pin bar.

Sending your horse hair
Full length tail hair is ideal, as this allows us to select the strongest hairs for your pin. Take the hairs at their full length — don't trim the ends. We only need approximately a pencil's thickness.
If full length tail hair isn't available, this design can also be made using shorter tail or mane hair, provided the hairs are at least 20 cm long.
Once you have placed your order, you'll receive full instructions for preparing, labelling and sending your horse hair to us.
Making & Delivery
Each piece is individually handmade to order and commissions are completed in the order they are received.
If you have a particular date in mind, please tell us when ordering and we will do our best to accommodate it. If your date is essential, please contact us before placing your order.
Care & Longevity
The braided horse hair in your pin is made to be worn and enjoyed, and a little care will help preserve it beautifully over time.
Avoid prolonged contact with water, perfumes, hairsprays and other cosmetic or household products.
The fine braid is protected within the design, but take care to avoid snagging or abrasion and store your pin carefully when it is not being worn.
Please follow the care instructions supplied with your jewellery.
